The occasion was the Inauguration of the Town Mayor. Sunday dawned a cloudy rainy day, but by the time the Band Members had met in the Quarry Car Park and had a warm-up, the morning had turned bright and breezy. It was a good turnout of Drum Major, 8 Pipers and 5 Drummers. The dress code was Day Dress with cream socks and pipe ribbons, and capes were included just in case the weather turned.

By 10.40 hours the whole Parade of Standard Bearers, Police cadets, Naval cadets, and Mayoral party, comprising Mace Bearers, Mayor, visiting Mayors, Councillors and Dignitaries had assembled on the Moor. The Parade Marshal brought the Parade to attention and the Kernow Band led the procession to the Church of King Charles the Martyr for the Service. On arrival the Kernow band marched to the left still playing, while the cadets were brought to attention. The Standard Bearers formed a Guard of Honour at the entrance to the church while the Vicar and Mayoral party entered the building. The band were dismissed and retired to the church restaurant for refreshments kindly provided by the Church and run by volunteers. This was very welcome as it was very humid.

Approximately at 11.40 hours the band reformed outside ready to escort the church party down to the large square for lunch at Zizzis. After the Parade Marshall brought the Parade to attention, he thanked the Band for attending and the Pipe Major said a few words to the Band before they were dismissed.  {vsig}2015/civic2{/vsig}
