The Kernows helped launch the 2017 Poppy Appeal in a short service in High Cross outside the west door of Truro Cathedral with 9 pipers and 4 drummers giving a good performance both before and after the ceremony. We played the following sets: Scotland the Brave, Green Hills, High Road to Gairloch, Castle Dangerous and Cockney Jocks. Slow airs were Highland Cathedral, Towerhill Dreams, Amazing Grace and Last of the Great Whales with solo leads respectively by Miranda, Emma, Felicity and Nigel.
We were glad to retire into Warren’s Bakery for a welcome hot cup of tea and a pasty before getting too chilled! We wish the RBL the best of luck with their collection.
