KERNOW PIPES AND DRUMS AT THE DEVON COUNTY SHOW FRIDAY 20 MAY 2011 Playing with THE BAND OF THE EXETER PIPES AND DRUMS
We left for the Devon County Show at 7 am and the weather was cloudy with a cool wind though sunshine was promised. On arrival we found the Band tent and soon met up with the other Kernow members and Band of the Exeter Pipes and Drums.
There was the usual warm-up session and a march down to the large bandstand at 1145. The combined bands drew a lot of attention as they played to a large appreciative audience.
A lunch break followed and the next session at 2 pm soon came and out came the sun raising the air temperature pleasantly. After the afternoon session the band assembled on the road and marched round the Showground, playing a medley of tunes. Yet another enjoyable event!
