FIRE BRIGADE AND POLICE CAROL SERVICE
Monday 17th December, Truro Cathedral

Pipers: Ali, Miranda, Emma, Dave, Mike, Keith G, Adam, Nigel
Drummers: tenor – Anita; snare – Ed, Chris; bass – Keith I

The Kernows ended the year by playing at the Carol service for the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service and Devon and Cornwall Police at Truro Cathedral. A few sets were played outside around the Christmas tree in High Cross before parading the clergy and Standards during the service. Our thanks to the Central Grill for letting us tune up in the warm and we gave them a couple of tunes to show our appreciation.

A good turn out with eight pipers, one tenor, two snares and bass drum. Our well rehearsed routine sounded even better within the magnificent acoustics and setting inside the cathedral.

We normally have a band photo by the tree, but in our haste we dashed off for a welcome cup of tea and mince pie with the congregation and then, for a few, fish and chips!

A nice way to finish the 2018 and start the festivities.
