The Kernows gathered at Port Isaac on Saturday evening with 8 pipers (Ali, Miranda, Alex, Davy, Donny, John, Keith, Nigel) and 4 drummers (Sue, Chris, Matthew, Kelvyn) forming the band. We set off behind the Port Isaac RNLI inshore lifeboat which was in front just in case it had a “call out”. The onlookers were quite a bit reduced from previous years, possibly due to the misty weather, which soon cleared for a pleasant evening. The band sounded great and the drones were pitched a bit higher than normal following the PMs recent trip away! The three usual sets were played on the march (High Road to Gairloch, Cockney Jocks and Dangerous Jim sets) and once the carnival ended we marched down the hill to the harbour with the Scotland the Brave set. Here we entertained the locals and a few visitors, but then a newly wed bride appeared with her new husband and all her guests which brought a round of applause and congratulations from us all !
