AMAZING MAZEY DAY PARADES IN PENZANCE!

Pipers: Emma, Adam, Alex, Davy, Don and Nigel
Drums: Anita, Kelvyn, Henry, Steve, Matt and Chris

An amazing day at the Golowan Festival in Penzance for the Mazey Day Parades. We had been a bit short on players but our thanks to Emma and Steve for coming along despite work commitments and to the AA for getting Nigel’s car started first thing! Our congratulations go to Don on his first outing with the band who joined other ‘locals’ Adam and Henry to march through their home town. Thankfully the weather was not as hot as other parts of the country and so the 11 o’clock parade was pleasantly cool but the 3 o’clock was definitely more of a challenge, especially on the way back up the hill. The town was packed full with locals and holiday makers enjoying the spectacle of the parades and we had a great reception from the crowds. It was good to see the day being such an obvious success with full support and participation by the local community in a traditional Penzance festival.
Well done all!
Nigel
