Big crowds and lots of sunshine in Newquay for the Carnival and despite the parade lasting for just under an hour, we kept going despite the warm weather! Town was full of tourists enjoying the atmosphere and the band got a good reception playing five sets in rotation (Green Hills set with Lochainside, Scotland the Brave, High Road to Gairloch, Cockney Jocks and Dangerous Jim sets). Always fun and rewarding to see the reaction of our music on the crowd as we pass. It was a well earned drink on the terrace overlooking the bay at the ‘Fort’. Must remember not to follow the ‘Wimbledon tennis players’ next year as I missed a couple of grace notes trying to dodge balls and a massive tennis racket!
Good community effort to put on a real spectacle for the town! Well done Newquay Lions Club.
