The Kernows were delighted to support the Multiple Sclerosis Merlin Centre at Hewaswater for the grand Royal opening of the magnificent hydrotherapy pool and supporting facilities. The pool will enable MS sufferers to enjoy the physical and therapeutic benefits of being in the extra warm water. The Countess of Wessex came to Hewaswater to open the Pool facility and meet the clients, staff and charity supporters. The band played for the guests until the Countess, who was escorted by Band Patron the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall Col Bolitho, arrived for the opening ceremony. We then played as she walked to the Merlin Centre for a ‘meet and greet’ Cornish cream tea.

THANK YOU GRIGGS !
The Band would like to thank Mr Mike Grigg for allowing us to meet up at his country store, M A Grigg, at Hewaswater to warm up the pipes and to use the car park for the Royal Visit to the neighbouring Merlin Centre. Mr Grigg asked if we would play in the store so we were delighted to oblige and paraded down the isle with the wellies to the country clothing turning towards the ladies shoes before heading back to the cash desks past the galvanised gate fixings! All this much to the amazement, amusement and enjoyment of the public and staff alike! I think this was a first for the Band!
